There used to be much speculation as to what Americans of German antecedents would do when the States want to war. A letter from a German-born citizen in tho Central States, in an American journal, supplies a piquant answer to such a question. "My wife and I have brought up 12 children in this country." says the writer, "and America can, ha'Wi 6nven soldier* and fivg nurses tho minute she wants them."
