MOVEMENTS
THE CASUALTY LIST

A. e Pre r s Bureau sfatei that anti-air-crait gunfire drove oft' a group of aeroplane raiders which approached London ln6t night, and onlj- one, or possibly two, penetrated the defences. The casualties are now reported to be fifteen killed and seventy injured. The material dnniage is not great. The German airships which crossed the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coasts did not penetrate far inland. Thev attempted to approach various defended localities, but the gunfire drove tliem off. They dropped bombs on a coast town, and sliglutly injured three women; but little material damage was done.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
THE GERMAN REPORT. (Itec. September 26, 8.15 p.m.) London, September 25. A Gorman official report elates:—"Our aviators■ bombed London, Dover, Southend, Chatham, Sheerness, and Dunkirk, causing fires."—Aus.-N.Z.- Gable Assn.Reuter. . .
THE ZEPPELIN RAID. (Rcc. Soptember 26, 8 p.m.) London; September 25. The Zeppelins hovered over Yorkshire for some time. Tho "All clear" signal was given seven hours after the Gr6t warning. The airships cruised at a great height, and were not seen from the ground.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
ANOTHER VISIT (Rec. September 26, 8.15 p.m.) London, September 25. Official.—Aeroplanes orossed the Kent and Esses coast at various poinite this evening. A few bombs were dropped. One raider penetrated far into tho sonth-oastern outskirts of London and dropped two bombs. Twenty casualties resulted."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
"WE HAVE STOPPED DAY RAIDS" (Rec. September 27, 0.10 a.m.) London, September 26. A high official has informed the "Daily Express" that London's air defences are- more efficient. "We have stopped the day raids," he said. "The time IB not far distant when Hun machines will corao no more."—Reuter.
