Tile sweet stall which Miss Carter has organised in connection with Paddy's' Market should meet a very special need, as one of the features will bo tins of sweets, 'sewn in calico and ready to bo packed for sending away to the soldiers on active service. Miss Carter's reputation as a maker of sweets is well known, and a great variety of all kinds, soft and hard, have been made for [lie stall by her and her mother, Mrs. Carter, some of them being particularly delicious, judging by those which have eomo under personal observation and experience. The weddins; took place on Tuesday in St. Peter's Church, Palinerston North, of Mr. Douglas Park, third son of Mi 1 . W. Park, of that town, to Miss Hilda (Dill) Wood, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. Wood, of Mi.lson's Lino, the ceremony was performed by Canon Coates, and the bride was given away by her father. Trooper Cecil Wood acted as best man, and Miss D. Park as bridesmaid.
