MEETING OP THE COUNCIL. The ordinary meeting of the Jvaroriy Borough Council wai held last evaning. In the unavoidable absence of the Mayor (Mr. B. G. H. Burn) Councillor A. Hamilton prosified, and there were also present .Councillors W. Skegg, E. L. Tingey, AV. G. Bradnock, H. E. Drj-den, J. Mackenzie, and J. W. Henderson. Tho Wellington War I'uuds Collectiin Committeo wrote that "Our Day" for the Bed Cross Socwty was fixed this year for October-IS, and it was stated that part of- the proceeds would i.-e (Tovoted to tho relief of Wind soldiers and sailors. The council was asked to give whatever assistance possible. The letter was received. A letter was receivwl from the Wellington Tramways Traffic Manager iut\mating that the. car leaving Court?nay Place at 5.32 p.m. would in future run through to the Council Chambers terminus. Tho circular letter of the Green Tβ!and Borough Council with respect to the payment of a war' bonus to Civil Servants was received. The report of tha Works Comtnitr?e dealing with certain rcnairs and renovation work was ndopted. ' Thfi report of tho borpiigh piigirrer, which dealt with roukine work, /vas adopted.
