A young woman who arrived at Duaedin on Saturday morning with . her mother on a visit to relatives was evidently not weli, and ou the way to lier destination she left a suit-case at a shop. On arriving at their destination it was discovered that the girl was very ill, and a doctor was called. An examination disclosed the fact that the girl had !,cen recently confined. This led to inquiries by detectives, resulting in tho discovery of the body of a newly-born child in the suit-case at the shop. A post-mortem examination was liald yesterday. 'J lie girl's condition was such that her removal to a hospital, was necessary.
