. S Tbo inaugural mcctinc of tho Protestant Political Association will lju held in tlio Town Hall on Tuesday next. Reports from many parts of Iho Dominion announce thut the vork of enrolment is proceeding apace. In one town in the Boiitli Iho membership is nearlng the 3000 mark. Tho plea has hecn advanced in many quarters that during tho war at any ratp no political work of this nature should Iβ undertaken, and that vinw is shared by many of the members and oilii-iiiln of the iißSOoiation, but it i 3 claimed that tho activities of other sections of tho community, and particularly the regressive character imparted to tho work of organisation, hae taen responsible for calling the Protestant Political Association to life at tho present time. Tho association claims to he absolutely independent, without party politics, but seeking both measures and men as tho ideal, with oflunl rißlits for all. special jirivili-sres to none, and to promote the social and moral wellbeing of the Dominion.
