HOSPITAL BOARD

YESTERDAY'S MEETING. The Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board met yesterday. Mr. H. Baldwin presided, and there were present also Rev. H. Van Staveren, Rev. Dr. Elliott, Mesdamw Aitken, M"Laren, MTicar, Weill, Messrs. ,T, Smith, G. J. Petherick, C. M. Luke, J. Castle, F. T. Moore, J. W. M'Ewiui, W. J. G. A. Monk, W. Galloway, and D. Campbell. It was reported that the tender of D. Murphy (,£1075 Bs. 4d.) for the road to give access to the new fever hospital site, and the necessary excavations had been accepted. Sister Comrie's resignation was accepted with regret. It was reported that the Plunket Society had agreed to let the board have the services of a nurse for two hours each morning. The Hospital Committee reported that 16 children had been admitted during the month to the Macarthy Convalescent Home, and 1G discharged, and on September 12 there were nine children still in the liome.

Hudson, D'Oyiej-, Ilobhs, King, M'Donftld, Hunter, Grunt, Carroll, Wardell, Mist* Turtun, Miss Richardaju. The Wairarapa Farmers' Association sent sweets, and several other business Jirms whose names -have not yet been givon contributed artificial flowers for ,lje posies which were sold. The honorary secretary would be glad to have returned the tickets which were sent out by her and were not sold, or else their equivalent in money.
