CITIZENS' CHRISTMAS GIFT FUND
A meeting iras "held in No. 2 Committee Room, Town Hall, on Monday night, Tv-hen representatives from, most of the locnl drapery Houses were pre* sent. It ivas decided to make arrangements for a masquerade ball and poster pageant in the Town Hall, proceeds to be devoted to -the Associated Sports Bodies' Fund for Christmas gifts to our soldiers. Those present showed much enthusiasm, and sub-committees wero set up to arrange details. The windowdressers_ of the leading establishments «re taking in hand the decorations, so that something unique may be looked for in this respect. The three dailv papers are donating special trophies for com. petition amongst. those taking part in the pageant.
