—. '• i. a ~> ANNUAL MEETING. * ' The annual mectins of the geological section of tho Wellington Philosophical ■ Society was held last evening. Tho followinc officers were elected:— President, Mr. J. Henderson, M.A., D.Sc.; vice-president, Mr. K K. Lomas, M.A., M.So.j:hoii. secretary, Dr. ,C. A. Cotton, D.Sc, .M.S.; committee, the above gentlemen, and Messrs! Holmes. Ho!?ben, Morgan. Uttley, and Thomson. After the annual meeting, an ordinary meeting of the society was hold. Papers were read by Mr. G. H. Uttley on "The Geology of tho Papakaio District, Oamarii"; and by Mr. P. S. Morgan on "Unconformities in tho Tertiary and Cretaceous Rocks of Western America and New Zealand."
