KILLED WHILE WRITING. A wireless hero's log lias bc-en eont I>T our Admiral in the Adriatic as an exhibit for the National War Museum. It was found in the -wireless cabin of H IT. drifter Floaridi after an attack on the drifter.'line bv three Austrian, cruisers in the Adriatic on May 10, 1917 The wireless operator, Douglas Morris Harris, A.8., R.N.V.R., continued to send and receive messages, altliougn. the drifter was being riddled by shells, until he was killed by a piece of shrapjiel while writing in the log. rhe piece of shell perforated the log, and the lino made by his pencil when he was hit ami collapsecl can be seen on the paper upon which he was writing. Jhe operator was found dead in his chair, lying over the log. -
