THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications arc for easterly to northerly winds, increasing strong to gale, the barometer falling everywhere, for the development of a- ■westerly storm, area. Expect dull and stormy weather with rain probable generally. Fair to cloudy weather 'prevailed on Saturday and Sunday, except in the extreme north and south, and along the West Coast o{ the South Island, but cloudiness has increased generally to-day. The -wind has been variable, with moderate to strong northerlies predominating. Atmospheric pressure has remained high over the Dominion. D. 0. BATKS, Director.
