REGULUS TAKES TRANSHIPMENTS. Tho Anchor Company's steamer Ecgulus, which will sail to-day for Nelson end West Coast, is a full ship. The amount of cargo offering was and tho vessel yesterday afternoon stajted to receive transhipments from the Kaitoa, and in consequence her holds aro taxed to the utmost-MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain Eyre .has taken command of tho Union Company's collier Kahika, in place of Captain Bobbins, who lias proceeded to Dunedin for orders. I Mr. C. Dempster has joinod the Regulus as second officer, in place of Mr. G. H. King. Mr. W. Jarvie, first officer on the Kaitangata, has come ashore, and Mr. R. H. Uuntley has been engaged Mr. A. Nelson, third officer on the Kaitangata. has left that ship, and Mr. W. leish has taken his posi-tiyu. Mr. C. Callls. late purser of the Corinna, is at present ashore in Wqjlinglpn. Mr. P. Ward, second engineer of the. Pateena, has gone to Duuedin in order to join an overseas vessel as second officer. Mr. F. Honitt baa taken his place. Mr. A. Winter, chief offipcr in the Union Company service, is at present in WeUington for oaders. Mr. W. Kidd has relieved Vr. J. Stewart ae third cngincor of a Union Cjnipany steamer. The Baden Powell i 6 duo to-morrow from Lyttelton. It is probable that she will leavo on Monday for Puponga and Lyttelton. Tho Huia is duo on Tuesday from New Plymouth and Wanganui, and will sail the same day for those ports. The Tainui left Wellington at midnight, for Timaru. She will return en Tuesday and sail the same day lor Oamaru. Tiie Eunioe (auxiliary sepw) was to have left Greymouth yesterday for Wellington, whoro she is due on Monday. She is to sail on Tuesday for Wanganui. The scow Hazel Repton will ltavo for Lyttelton with the first favourable wind. The Maponrika. left West.pon. at 9 a.m. yesterday for Nolson and Wellington. She should arrive here early this afternoon. The Kiui is to leave Gieymoutji to-day with a. oaxKo of Hmbov and coal for Wcllintrton and Lyttelton. The Kokiri will sail to-day . with coal for New Plymouth. Tho Kamona ie to leavo Orerniouth at 9 p.m. to-day with coal for Wellington and Napier. , The coastal steamer Mena, which was recently purchased from the Pa-tea Shipping Company, Ltd., by a. Dunedin syndicate for the local coasting trade, nas been resold to the New Zealand Refrigerating Co., Ltd. It is understood that the sale was effected at a very high price, which was most satisfactory to tho Dunedin syndicate. It is cxpDCtod that- the Mana will be employed in the trade botween Lyttelton and Wanganui.
