The forces working for' the closing of liquor bars at 6 p.m. are very numerous, and avo in all parts of the. Dominion The temperance section in Wei]ington is,organising a mass meeting in tho Town Hall on Sunday night, as tho hall is not available during nest week. Parliament is not to bo allowed to vote for eight o'clock closing instead of six, as requested, by. nearly 200,000 .adults, under the impression that this will satisfy either the petitioners or tho very many thousands of others who, though, not signing , a petition, ate, nevertheless, most insistent that tho bars must dose during the war when other trades close. The'promoters believe that tho hall will be crowded to the doors, and that tho demand for six o'clock ae tho latest hour of closing will be most insistent. Mr. Temple White will be in charge of the musical portion of tho gathering; His Lordship Bishop Sprott will preside over the meeting, and the Bev. Dr. Gibb and Mr. L. M. Isitt, M.P., will be tho two Bpeaters. . , It is also advertised that a march on Parliament is to take place on Tuesday next. A procession is to form at the Vivian Street Barracks at 5 p.m.. and, led by the Salvation Army Band, will proceed through Cuba, Manners, and "Willie Streets and along Lambton Quay, iuv riving at Parliament House, where the Prime Minister is to receive a deputation, jat 5.30 p.m.
