CURTAILMENT OF FIXTURES.
Melbourne, September 13. Senator Pearco (Minister of Defence) announced in the Senate the Government proposals for tho curtailment of sport. ETcErtopolitan raco meetings in Victoria will be reduced by two meetings, in New South (Vales by 37. in West Australia by IS, and in Queensland by' 72. The number of trotting, pony, and country meetings will also Be reduced. Unregistered meetings will not be permitted. Boxing contests of twenty rounds will bo allowed onco a- rortnignt.— Press Assn. A Press Association cablegram from Sydney states that Jfr. H. R. Drison has purchased linniorteli'e. The price is not stated.
