ATTACK ON FLEET OF AMERICAN SHIPS . SIX U-BOATS BELIEVED TO BE SUNK Washington, September 11. lho Navy Department has announced that the steamship Wcstivego reported that a ileet of American steamships was attacked on September 5 off tho trench coast by six U-boats. Two steamships were sunk. "Probably all six XT-boats were sunk." Warships convoyed tho American vessels—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
