BLEAK WEATHER
The country yesterday experienced a return to tho bleak weather of winter, with dull skies and intermittent squalls. Present _ indications point to decreasing southerlics, with a change following to tho north shortly above a lino from Westport to Kaikoura. Cold and changeable weather is to bo looked for, with squally, conditions, but a brief improvement may bo expected soon,
