Over 28,000 cards hnvo been received by tlio Victorian War Council from soldiers intimating what business tliey. desiro to engage in upon their return (states the Molbourno "Ago"). Tho cards have now been classified. A great many of tho men have not stated what they would like to do, but 7100, or 25 por cent., havo intimated that they would like to go on the land, and many of them are well equipped for tlio undertaking. Those who havo their positions kept open for them number 7000. Of the land seekers 819 experienced men havo capital of cTer .£IOO. Thoso inoxperienced and with less than .£IOO number 3639, and thcro aro GBG of 'this class whoso capital is doubtful. Tho inexperienced- with capital of over ■£JOO number 81, and 50ti havo no experience and capital of less than ,£IOO. while 179 inexporienced men are donbtfui as to their means Replies wero received from 3159 farm workers who do not state their intentions. Farmers and farm workers who can malto their own arrangements number 11G7. Other replies wero received from 1770 employees in shops, warehouses, etc., Il9t from iron workers and those engaged in engineering trades, 1210 from men formerly engaged in building trades. 107K from clerical workers, including students and teachers, 2201 from unskilled workers, 2801 from labourers ir, trades, mines, etc., and 155 from miscellaneous workors. <
