WOUNDED BY FALLING ON BUTCHER'S KNIFE
By Telegraph—Press Association. . Pahiatua, September 10. George Checkley on Sunday was riding round his father's sheep farm at Hinemoa (a backblock settlement) carrying a butcher's knife. Being unseated while descending a hill, the knife entered his 6i'do and penetrated his right lung, causing a serious wound. Checkley had lost a considerable quantity of blood before lie was discovered. He reached tho hospital at midnight.
