Competition was kecu for all classes of stock, and wo made practically a total clearance at tho following prices:—Sheep: iioggets, 245. Abraham aud Williams, Ltd., report:—At Palmerston Korth on September o we had a moderate yarding of sheep and cattle. There was a good demand, especially for stock of good quality, arid Mio major portion of the entry changed bauds at the following rates—Forward wethers, 385.; f.m. forward ewes, 255.; good mixed hoggets, 30s. 3d.; store hoggets, 245. 10d.; Southdown-cross hoggets, 235.; two and four-tooth wethers (suiall), 325. 3d. to 335.; store ewes, 235. 3d.; Shorthorn springing heifers, £13 to £13 55.; two and a halfyear springing heifers, £8 10s. to £10 10s.; dairy cows (poor), £7 12s. 6(1. to £9 55.; mixed weaners, £4 ss. 6d.; cows and calves, £8 15s. to £9.55. At Feilding on September 7 stock oamo forward in average numbers. Both sheep and cattlo were in good demand, and sold well.' With the exception of one pen of sheep aud one of cattle all lots we yarded .changed hands. Three pedigree Jersey heifers sold on account of Henson Estate, 'Mount Stewart, sold at 27 guineas, 35 guineaß, and 27 guineas respectively. Dairy cows brought from £10 to £14 10s.; springing heifers, £10 10s. to £14 55.; others,'£7 10s. to £9; iorward cows, £9 15s. to £10 17s. 6d.; fresh-conditioned cows, £8 to £8 i7s. 6d.; two and a halfyear steers (bad colours), £10; small storo cows, £6 to £7 125.; twenty-month empty heifers, £5 to £6 7s. 6d.; bulls, £8 10s. to £10 155.; mixed yearlings (poor), £3 lis.; ewes and lambs, 275. 6d. to 295. 6d.; light fat and forward ewes, 31s. to 335. 4d.: empty owes, 275. 6d. to 28s. 6d,; mixed hoggets, 295. 3d. to 325.; medium do., 265. to 28s.' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., weekly report:—At Feeding, on Friday we had. a fair entry of sheep. Hoggets were again in good demand, and sold freely. Cull ewes, 10s. 6d.; forward ewes, 255. 6d.; medium hoggets, 235. 3d.; good woolly hoggets, 31s. G: Sharpe's salo on Thursday there was a good attendance of buyers. Owing to the rough weather the sheep did not look at their best, and were sold at prices in favour of the purchasers,. The horses and implements, liowever, sold particularly well. Messrs. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., Masterton, report having held'a clearing 6ale.of dairy stock at Hongokakako on l'hursuay, on account of Mr. George Edmonds, who is giving up dairying.
