CITIZENS' CHRISTMAS GIFT FUND
. $ Sports Days (November 30 and December 1), are to be red-letter days in the annals of Wellington athletics. It is hoped then to have all branches of sport working together in the- interests of our men at the front.
Tlie Ladies' Hockey Association is'first, in tho held -with proceeds from its tournament. Soon othens tihoiiitt be at work. It is intended to interest, ,'if possible, overy association and club, with their lady supporters and friends, in the holding of stalls, etc., the assistants' being appropriately dressed for the occasion. Tlie fowlers, hockey players, Swimn.ins Association, Bowing Association', Athletic Association, and Wellington Uacing Club have already promised to take part, and the footballers, cricket, golf, and tennis plny.ers, and other bodies / aro confidently expected to follow enit immediately. Although the special daye appointed are (somewhat, distant,) thoso willing to help can organise now.' This point was emphasised at tho committee.meeting, when it was also mentioned that till, good sports wore preparing to do what they could whon called upon.' Enthusiasts in out-of-door pastimes residing in suburban and country difjtricts will bo asked to send along flowers, etc., for tho stalls, or arrange some special effort in their own district-
