» — : MAN KILLED WHILE FELLING TREES. By l'clc^raph—Press Association. Auckland, September 3. Robert M. Douglas, a married man, who was engaged in felling trees at Jtatalraru Gorge, was found dead with a tree across his neck and chest. .Mrs.Alice Matilda Caines, aged 46 years, died suddenly at her residence, 1G Yale Street, off Tusman Street, at 3 o'clock yesterday morning. Mrs. Caines's husband is at the front, and she was residing with her daughter at tho time of her death. A married mail named James Gavin, 12 years of age, a dyer by occupation, and residing in Adelaide Road, who was admitted to the Hospital towards the ond of last week suffering from tho effects of having swallowed some ammonia, died in that institution early yesterday morning. An inquest will be held.
