MAN DIES AFI'ER COLLIDING WITH A MAORI. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, September 3. A. Maori named .Tack Pibana pleaded mot guilty and was committed for trial on a charge of killing James White, Hooker on August 11, andv with causing actual bodily barm, by an; act of negligence, to Hooker. The showed that Pihana, who. allegedly had committed a nuisanco in, a street, was being pursued by a constablo, and ran on to a footpath, colliding with Hooker. the latter complained •of pains m h.s abdomen and Jogs, and was conveyed to the Hospital, where he died eightixn hours later. The medical cvidcnco was to the effect that deatfj was due to rup. lure of a cyst on the kidney and hemorrhage, and that probably little force from a collision would cause the rupture.
