Association, Ltd.,- report, oil the weekly Danlievirke sale held on Friday as follows:— We ofiercd a fair yarding of all classes of stock to a small attendance of buyers. Hoggets were not as keenly sought after as' at the previous sale, but fat sheep were in 'l-ather better demand. Wo sold the bulk of our yarding as follows :-23 fat, ewes, o2s. 6d.; • 24 fat owes, 325. 7d.; 25 fat ewes, 335.; <17 f.tn. ewes, in lamb,- 275.: 6 cull liogeets. 75.:- 69 late shorn medium Jiugjcts, 14b. 4d.; 37. small woolly hoggets, 17s. 10d.; 71 Down , cross hoggets,. 203.-6 d.: JOO mixed sex' hoireets. crossbred and ,Bowu cross; 225. lid.; 10 ewes,'in'lamb- (aged), 525. ; 1 wether, 285.; 1 ewe, 10s.; 10 rams, JOs to 12s. 6d_: "4 coloured, yearling steers. £4 10s.: 8 yearling dairy- heifers, £5 Is.; 6, 2-year dairy heifers, springing. £12;. 1 empty cow, £8 ■ 10s. •• - - - . . The' Wairar.ipa Farmers Co-operative Association, Ltd.," stock department, report on their weekly Pahiatua stock sale, held last Tuesday, as follows:—Wo offered a medium yarding of sheep and a failentry of cattle to a good attendance of thoso interested. There was a keen inquiry for both sheep and eattlc, ■ and prices were in favour-of the vendor. Wo qnote as follows:—Ewe hoggets (good), 31s. 7d.; hoggets (medium), 225. 6d.; culls, 165.; cull ewes, 10s. Ed.; 3-year 'steers, bad colour, £13 10s.: 20-month steers, bad colour's. £8 65.; empty- cows,. £8. 2s. 6d. to £9 10s.: 2-year Jersey .heifers, empty, £5 10s.; -dairy heifers, late calvers, £6. £7; springing heifers, £7 12s. 6d., £8 12s. , 6d„ to £12 2s. 6d. At Woodville last Thursday the firm held a most successful clearing sale of dairy, stock on account of Mr. J. H. Coulter. Woodlands Road. The
whole herd averaged slightly over £12; August and September calvers, .£ll 155.. £13 155., £15 5a., £15 10b\, £17 55.; October calvere, £10 2s. 6d.. £11, £13 195.; S-year-old bnortboru bull, 16ignH.; 17 mixed wcaners, £4 7s. 6d. Bidding at aucliou was animated, and we have to report a lotal clcarance with the exception of one pen of yearlings. The New Zealand Loan and- Mercantile Ageucy Co. rcuort: At Fcilding o"n Friday a moderate entry of sheep and cattle met with a ready sale. Htore ewes, 21s. 6d,; forward ewes. 265.; medium hopgets. 235. to 255. Id.: mixed hosgcts, 295. 6d.; ewe hoggets, 305.; small 2tooth ewea in lamb. 305.; light store cows. £4 19s. 6d.,; store cows, £7 19s. 6d.; fat cows, £16. ' Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd, Masterton, report having held their weekly sale at Carterton on Friday, when there was the usual attendance, and a fair yarding of stock. Competition was good, and a total clearance was made at the. followine prices:—Sheep: Forward b.f. hoggets, 255.: medium m.s. Jiomoey cross hoggets, 225. i'iss: Slips, 205., 235., to 255. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Mastertou, report having held their fortnightly sale at Martinborough on Thursday, August 30, when there wag a large attendance and a fair entry of stock. Competition waß keen right, throughout the sale, and a total clearance was made at the following priccs:—Good wether hoggets, 31s. 3d.; b.f. hoggets, 235.; small m.s. Komney crosß hoggets, 215.; store ewes. 20s. 7d.; ewes, with lambs at foot, 30s. Mcsßrs. Dalgety and Company report i- 5 - We bad a small yarding of both sheep and cat tie .at our Wanganui sale. Competition was inclined to bo slack and several lines were passed. Good business, however, was ©fleeted after the sale, and the bulk of our yardiug was quitted at prices well up to late sales. We quote:—Medium hoggets, 225. 6d.; small black-faced hoggets, 19b. 4d.; empty ewes, 255. t0,265. 2d.; medium 2-tooth wethers, 365.; springing heifers, £7 145.: cows close to drop, £11 155.; forward oows, £9 10s.; medium weancrs, £4. ,At our Waverley sale on August 31 we had a fair yarding of cattle. Competition was fairly good throughout; and wo report practically a total clearance at the following prices:—Springers. £14; springing heifors, £9.55. to £11 5b.; Jersey heifers, .with calves at foot, £13 2s. 6d.; cull cows and calves, £4 10s.; fat light heifers, •£7 165.: medium yearling steers, £5 53.; small weaners, £2 to £2 17s. . .The New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agency Company, Limited; Dannevirke, report holding a clearing sale on.behalf of Mr.'Denis Murphy, at Tataramoa. There was only a moderate Attendance of buyers, but the. cows were young and in good condition, and.readily found buyers. We quote: Cows, from £8 to .£l4, £14 10s. to £15; the whole herd of 31 cows £10 ss. A lamb was offered at. the .sale, presented by Mr. Murphy for the Salvation Army Trenoh Oomforts Fund, and realised £10 12s. At Millar's Road yards, on Friday, tho firm held their weekly sale, when they yarded a- good entry, of both sheep •and cattle, to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition was keen and the yarding was cleared at satisfactory prices. Sheep: m.s. hoggets, 215., 24b., 255.; empty ewes, 215.; ewes in lamb, 30s. Cattle: 2i-year steers (mixed), £11; 18-month steers; £9 to £7.125.; empty 2i-year heifers, £8; empty 18-month heifers, £7 10s.; store cows, £7 10s.; cows in calf, £7 10s. to £10.
