FIRE AT PARAPARUMU
A five-roomed house on the Main Road at Paraparaumu, oocupied by Mr. and Mrs. Worboys, was totally destroyed by fire about three o'clock on Friday morning. Mm. Worboys was absent in Wellington, and Mr. Worboys ajid a soldier friend, Corporal R. L. North, had barely time to. escape through the window of their bedroom. The fire had evidently originated in the front portion' of the house, and the occupants knew nothing until the flames reached their bedroom at the rear of tho building.
