BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY
WADESTOWN'S EFFORT. The Wadestown Cottage Garden and Beautifying Society held the first of a series of monthly shows in St. Luke's Schoolroom last evening. There was a large attendance, and there was a good display of bulbs. The prize for the best vase of twelve bulbs was, on the vote, given to Mr. C. Dormer. An article. on the potato blight was read by tho president (Mr. E. C. Alderton). At the next show a prize will ba given for the best assortment of season' able flowers of any description. The. committee will give a prize to the boy and girl of the local school who keeps and attends to the best plot in the sohoolground during the season. A pruning demonstration by an officer'ot the" Agricultural 'Department is being arranged. _\1 r. E. J. AVifiert was elected vicepresident.
