EDUCATION BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. The Hon. J. G. W. Aitken (chairman), Messrs. E. A. Wright, W. H. Field, W. Allan, J. Kebbell, G. London, T. Mous, T. Forsyth, E. P. Eishworlli, A. Mackay and A. W. Hogg were present at the monthly meeting of the Education Board held yesterday-. The financial statement showed a credit balance of >£97 17s. 2d., as against a. credit of iCISCO ss. sd. at the last meeting of the board. Tlio recoipis totalled ,£15,128 25., and the payments J:lC,oilO 10s. 3d.
A communication was received from the Petoiie Committee on tho subject of including wool-classing in the curriculum. It was decided that the matter was one for tho Technical School Board to consider. The chairman announcod that uio Department had made a grant of Xl7B 10s. for the purchase of a school site at Solway. Ho also 'repeated that communications had been received from tho Department to tho effect that grants of .£455 and JM« hn<l been authorised for additions io the school*; at Karon and tho Upper Hutt
