THE ZOO
Sir,—ln jour issue of to-day I nitice that the Kev. John Craves, in his .Nature Notes, prefaces these notee vitli a. statement of his relationship with the Curator of the Zoo. Hβ states that the council has put a brake on him, and "the Curator and myeelf do not trouble to notice each, other." How sorry I feel for Mr. Langcidge. Does Mr. Craves think that because he is the editor cf the Zoo Notee that it entitles him to run the Zoo? Anyone reading his rotes today would think lie had a grievance against the council, but as one who has had the Zoo's interest at heart for years 1 am sincerely pleased to think that Mr. Crewes has at last b'eqn put in nis proper place. Let him devote himself to his Zoo Notes, but leave the Zoo to the Curator, who manages so wisely and so well. There is one more geutletaan who requires pulling up, too, and no doubt he will be dealt wifcn when the time comes. The Curator and his staff have nuite enough to do without being annoyed by officiousntss ill any shape or form.—l am, etc.,
