Mpldrnra, H. Carver, J. Brassol. S. O. Clendon, W. Cotton, W. Kbit, A/ Hobbs, and H. A. "Ward. There was some discussion as to the removal of household refuse, wlilclv eevcral councillors* thought should bo undertaken T>y the council and the householders charged, and it was Sccided In iuotnict No. I Committee to consider tho matter.
Tho Wellington City Council wrote that tho actual expenditure on Hutt Road maintenance* totalled J3890, of which' amount the Hutt borough was liable for XlB2 lfc. The estimates for tho current. year were J35f10, and tho borongh's proportion of this, would bo £iSO, thus the Hntt boroneh was under an obligation to find Ml 2 fis. in connection with the innintDnnnce of the rnad. The Commissioner of Crown Lands wrote advising, that the Minister of Lands had , approved of the w.ork of roadins, etc.,' of the Hall-Jones settlement hein? carried out in' accordance with the drawing, schedule, and estimates, (submitted hy the Iroroiigh eneinp»r. and desired that the work he executedbv'the council, and tlint'full soeniJicatione .of thfi work he submitted liefore the work' is commenced. The settlement, it was stated, was heiri? reserved for returned soldiers. 'Tt was decided to lenve the matter in the linnds of the Mayor, Councillor .T. AV. F.
