Mr. Kenneth Stewart Begg, of Dunedin, of H.M. Customs, is staying at the K«gent Palace Hotel. Mr. J. B. Clar/kson, of Christciurcli. who is staying at Golders Green, is returning to New Zealand this month. Pastor N. W. P. Lascclles and Mr. Arthur Lascelles (of Napier) are going to Franco as commissioner and field secretary respectively to the Y.M.C.A. The fine bronze, "Le Lanceur de Grenades," presented to General Sir Andrew Kussell by the French when the New Zoalanders won the football -match in Paris' has been on show in the windows of Now Zealand House for some time. One hundred wounded New Zealandcrs were taken to the Albert Hall on June--24, and afterwards entertained at tiie Strand Corner House by Lady Hardwicke, Mrs. Pharazyn. Mrs. Dan Eiddiford. Mrs. Alan Strang, Mrs. Black, Mrs. Herbert Watson. Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Kebbel. Mrs. Crawford. Miss Eussell (daughter of Sir Andrew Eussell), and Miss Raymond (daughter of Mr. I. W. Eaymond).
Juno 28. Miss Pixie Laing, of Dunedin, is staying at Meads. Eastbourne. Miss Dora Harman, of Chri6tchurch, ib training at the Eoyal Herbert Hospital. Woolwich. ,_ Miss Adelaide van Staveren, of Wellington, has been engaged to sing every afternoon and evening of this week at t'np London Opera House. Miss Kato Campion, the New Zealand 6oprano, has just given her third recital in the Aeolian Hall. Eoger Quilter accompanied her in a group oi his own songs. Mr. W. S. Cox, late of the New Zealand I'.M.C.A., Hornchurch, is at the New Zealand Discharge Depot, Torquay, where he is arranging" 'fir the comforts of the P.U.'s.
Matron C. Anderson, "A.R.C., has returned to the New Zealand Convalescent Hospital at Hornckurch Camp after furlough in Scotland. Sister C. Young has also been to Scotland on leave..
Messrs. H. S. Ribbands and C. L. James, New Zealand E.F., have written and composed a song called "The Land of tliß Long White Cloud," -which lias been published by Messrs. "West and Co. Mr. Ribbands has written the words to several popular military songs, including"Strflce up that Band" and "Wo Shall Get There in Time."
