The Queensland Stale Recruiting Com'mitteo recently made a big bid "on the Albion Park racecourse for loan money to help to win the war. Tho whole of tho committee's stiitf of female clerks and returned soldiers' organisers turned up to copo with the possible rush on war savings certificates, but although the public invested over .£II,OOO on the totalisator up to closing time one single bond of tho face valuo of .CI was applied for.
