RED CROSS CONCERT AT DAY'S BAY
A very successful and quito enjoyable concert was given in .tlio Day's Bay Pavilion on Saturday evening, in aid of the Day's Bay Ladies' Red Cross luind. The hall was crowded, and 60 keen was public support for the Red Cross that many people whoso previous engagements or other circumstances made it impossible for 'them to bo present, nevertheless bought tickets to help the causo along. The programme was an excellent one, to which Weal talent and an entertaining party from town contributed. The first half consisted of miscellaneous concert items, to which Misses Alice and Dorothy Saunders, and Eileen Driscoll, and Messrs. Hugh Wright, W. W. Crawford, L. C. Barnes, and an orchestra consisting of Miss Olive Caverhill (at the piano), and Messrs. L. Logan, E. K. Lomas, F. I'. Grady, J. S. Lomas, ,ind T. T. Joy contributed'enjoyably. Mr. Albert Russell and his clever company of .costume, comedy amateurs, "The Daysbathers," delighted the audience during the latter half with a pot-pourri of amusing and irresponsible frivolity. The performers included: Misses Ethel Smith, Amie Sullivan, Marjorio and Alva Saunders, and Keiuiie M'Lellan, and Mr. W. TV. Crawford. The tasteful accompaniments by Miss Olive Caverhill were a feature of the programme. At the conclusion of the concert Mr. T. Mayer, on behalf of the Day's Bay Ladies' Red Cross Committee, thanked all those who had contributed to the success of the entertainment, and in other ways helped to swell the Red Cross Fund, which, he said, would benefit substantially as the result of their efforts.
