Tho Fitzgerald Kelief Fund has been closed and has been audited by Messrs. Gold and Arcus, accountants, and tho lists, bank slips, certificates, and bal-ance-sheets may bo seen by any interested person at the office of .1?. and E. Tingoy and Co., Ltd., Maimers Streot. Tho treasurer of tho fund expresses his hearty thanks on bohalf of Mis. Fitzgerald and family to tho citizens of Wellington for their gijnerous responso to tho app.ial on their behalf.
The balance-sheet shows a total collection (as pea- advertisement in this issue) of XBB3 lite. 2d., and there are no expenses attached to the collection, which has been borno by subscribers. Special thanks are extended to tho Oriental Bay and Roseneath Municipal Association, Commercial Travellers' Club, the committee and management of benefit concert, Town Hall, tho Wellington Patriotic Band, Salvation Anny Bands (City and Wellington South), Federal Club, tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke. C.M.G.), Mr. W. B. Jackson, and Mr. C. H. Izard, and to fho newspapers. A contract has been let by the architects, Messrs. Swan and Swan, Woodward Street, for J95 to rebuild in reinforced concrete the wall •which caused the unfortunate accident. The contract is well in hand. It is proposed to buy with the balance an annuity to work oat in ten years. This will be finally decided on in the near future by the trustees, Messrs. J. P. Luke, C.M.G., W. E. Jackson, and L. E.
