August IG, 8.30 p.m.) London, August 15. The "Daily Telegraph's" Rome correspondent states that the Vatican is annoyed at tho premature publicity that has been given to the Pope's Peace Note, which was intended to bo issued without any earlier announcement, thus avoiding adverse comment. Tho Papal nuncios of every belligerent country have been for months making secret inquiries regarding the attitude of tho belligerents. Their investigations attracted attention, causing the Vatican repeatedly to deny rumours regarding tho issuo of a peace manifesto—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. HARDEN'R PAPER ON THE QUESTION. Amsterdam, August 15. Herr Maximilian Hardeu's paper the "Zukunft" has reappeared after its suspension.
