AUSTRIAN AIR RAID ON VENICE
EFFECTIVE REPRISALS. BY THE ITALIANS. (Rec. August 10, 5.20 p.m.) Rome, August 15. A group of the onemy's aeroplanes bombed Venice at daybreak on Tuesday. One bomb fell on the hospital, killing two and woundiug twenty-one patients. The material damage done was slight. The Italian anti-aircraft guns brought down several of the raiders. An Italian air squadron immediately carried out reprisals, and successfully bombarded the enemy's coast and a group of Austrian destroyers. The machines returned 6afoly—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.

An Austrian ofiicial report 6tatcs: "As a reprisal for an Italian aerial attack on Poln. numerous Austrian aeroplanes attacked the maritime arsenal in Venice successfully, and dropped four tons of bombs.
