Riddoll, S.M., appears to bo more serious than was at first anticipated, for it is now reported that ho will be unfit lo attend to his magisterial duties for at least a month. Nows readied Mastcrton yestordny (says our special correspondent) that Sergeant Jack Coradiue, solicitor, ot Maaterton, and son of Mr. J. M. Coradine, Mayor of Mastorton, has been killed in action. Much sympathy is felt for tho Mayor in his loss. Advice has been received by Mr. P. Sutherland that Colin Peid, formerly ot tho jobbing staff of The Dominion, was wounded during recent fighting in 1 ranee. The soldier in question left New Zealand with tho Tenth Eeinforcoments, and was wounded onco beforo, and also had aspell in hospital with an injured loot. A Press Association message from London states that Sir Edward Letehwortb, Grand Secretary of tho freemasons, has resigned. Ho is succeeded by Mr. Oolvillo Smith. Mr. and Mi's. Frank Cullcii, of Hataitai, liavo boon advised that their son, Sergeant Thomas Cullon, has been wounded whilo fighting in France. Sergeant Cullon, who was on tho staff ot tho Agricultural Department in Wellington when ho enlisted, was bom in Christcliurch, and was educated at the Manst Brothera' School, AVellington, and at bt. Patrick's College. Ho left with tho Eighteenth Reinforcements.
