Sir,—Mr. Strand made ail -unjust point against the city vendors when he insinuated that the latter were more criminal than the countrysidcrs m the mattor of milk prosecutions. The:reply to that would be a demand for the actual proportion of convictions to samples taken, when Mr. Strand would find his argument in queer street, •j:' l ® J vo:1 , feature of the case is that Mr. Straw knows as well as any one that 'the arbitrary and crude working of these cases makes for an unfair and uncertain incidence of misfortune on- both sides, ana never actually proves misfeasance on cither. As his remark will, of course, find its way into all tlie papers. tho rcply ought to get the August 15.
