| "IDLE WIVES." The problem of tlio young girl who will, not brook the restraints put upon her by her parents, tho problem oJ the wifo who iinds that she has no homo duties, no children, and no ties, tho problem of tho young man who, without being actually conscious of it, proposes to destroy tho purity of his sweetheart, are all dealt with in "Idle Wives." Tho Universal Company, who produced. "Where Are My Children" gave Lois tVeber a free hand, and she has produced a play which is a startling rcvolatton | in the matter of advocacy per medium of the film. Tlie subject, however, is handled, in the words of a leading American paper, "without dirt or drivel," and nlthough dealing with human happenings which arc usually passed over in drama, the play is carefully treated and delicately managed. It also is a first-class testimony to the power of tlie film, as \the moral lessons in it fire enforced by a drama which is seen on the screen, by the leading characters in the oast. As they watch, they see their own individual dangers outlined, and the dreadful _ results of their conduct morcilessly delineated. According to the announcements; "All humanity is in tho cast," and this is in a measure quite true. The season opens at tlie King's Theatro this afternoon, and will bo shown all this weelc twice daily. —Advt.
