CONCILIATION COUNCIL
PRIVATE HOTEL WORKERS" DISPUTE. \ The Conciliation Council, presided over by the Commissioner, Mr. W. H. Hagger, yesterday met to consider tho adjourned dispute of tho private hotel, restaurant', and tearoom employees and their employers. Mr. W. A. Grenfell appeared as agent for the employers, ami Mr. E. Kennedy as agent for the union. -
Mr. Grenfell stated that the employers had decided to offer without prejudice to Arbitration Court proceedings a war bonus of 10 per cent, all round, if the clause in the demands relating to the place of engagement was excluded. Mr. Kennedy replied that the union did not approve of the bonus system, but was willing to discuss tho wages for all classes of workers. The parlies did not arrive at a. settlement yesterday. The council adjourned till to-day.
