The punishment inflicted _ upon prisoners attempting to escape will, as a result of the agreement, bo rcduccd to fourteen days' Special confinement for a 6imple offence, or two months' confinement if aggravated by an offence aeainst property. It has alio been provided that all combatant prisoners undergoing punishment for such offences shall be released to ordinary' captivity jat latest by Augiist 1. No future reprisals are to take placo, except on four weeks' notice, and the execution of all sentences for offences committed by combatants or civilians bet.ween the date of capture and August 1 are to stand over until the conclusion of peace. The qualification on medical grounds, both for repatriation and internment in a_ neutral country of combatant prisoners is to bo made more lenient, and the more severely wounded or seriously ill among tho prisoners ill Switzerland are. to bo sent back to their own countries. In addition, arrangements are to l>e made to select for internment in Holland 7500 sick and wounded of all ranks, both German and British, irrespective of the officers and N.C.O.'s, who, as previously announced, aro to be interned by the Dutch Government.
