WE WANT MEN NOT BOYS

Sir, -Surely I was dreaming when 1 Tead in the morning's paper that the age limit was going to be reduced from twenty to nineteen, but on reading your leader I knew I was awake. As you sav, surely the Second Division will not put up with the -idea of sheltering behind a lot of boys. My impression is, and many others are of tho same view, that A Class of. the Second Division ousht. to have been composed or the married men with no children, and those married men well enough off to nave left their wives and families provided for without being a tax on the conntry. There are many of that kind still about who are just sheltering behind a petticoat; so wliy not, if the boys in their 'teens are to take their place, call up the rivls to accompany and look alter them, so as to give those who rea ly ought to go a further respite. Surely, after New Zealand has done so magmticentlv in already sending all her flower and With out of the country noi member in the House could have the face to even suggest, let alone vote, to take a lot of boys when there are still thousands of strong and able- 1 in the country who feel and know it is their duty to go. No, sir, I think before the boys in their 'teens are called up. those who have lived ought to fall into line—l am, etc., SECOND pIV isiON.
