THE EIGHT-HOUR PRINCIPLE
IN ABEYANCE DURING. THE WAR. London, August 10. Sir Albert Stanley (President of tho Hoard of Tra'de) informed a deputation of engine-drivers and firemen that the Government is unable to recognise the eight-hour principle during the war. Tho deputation has convened ii general conference of railwaymen to consider the unfavourable reply—Tho "Times."
