MASTERTON NOTES
At tho annual meeting of the Jla6terton A. and P. Association on Saturday tho report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tho retiring president (Mr. Q. Donald) made a brief speech, in which ho referred to the excellent position in which the' association stood. Mr. C. l'\ Vallnnco was elected unopposed as president for tho ensuing year, and the committee was elected without opposition. Mastertou tobacconists report that, in cousequenco of the increased price for imported tobacco, a considerable demand has set. in for f ! he New Zealand article. One Mastertou firm has disposed of sixty motor-cars during the past year. Mr. A. W. Tlo2g informed the Trust Lauds Trust on Friday that the Fducation Board was still negotiating for a school site at Solwny. and also for one in Mastprton upon which to establish a second school. The jubilee of'lCnox Church, Masterton, is to bo celebrated this month, when special services will be held. The white feather fiend is again at work in Ihe Weirnrapa. some of the members of the Second Division having been recipients of white tci' ■ anonymous sources. The Kpnthoston Miniature Rifle Club wrested the Pragnell Shield from tho Masterton (llub on Friday night by a margin of 20 points.
