The Blackball Coal Company's collier Ngatoro is due at Wellington about the middle of the week with coal from Greymouth. Tlie whistling buoy which broke away from its moorings at the Lyttelton ncads recently, and was towed to Lyttelton for repairs and painting, has been replaced. Tho Chatham Islands Pishing Compauy's steamer Himitangi arrived at the Chatham Islands on Thursday. She is expecied to leave on Sunday for Wellington direct. A new company lias just been registered in England with a capital of £100.000 in £1 shares, to be called the Ocean Salvage Company. Ltd., a title which will sufficiently explain its purpose. The first directors arc Mr. 11. M. Grayson (chairman, and Messrs. P. Dixon, J. W. Potter, J. Esplen, and L. E. Thomas. With these personalities behind it (says an exchange) the company is bound to take a prominent place in salvage operations. There is any amount of work to be done at present, and underwriters will welcome the advent of a sound, strong, and well-man-atr«d concern. Mr. T. Melville, chief engineer in tho Union Company's service, has gone to Dunedin for instructions.
