Dalgety and Co., Ltd., i'almcrston North, report Having hold a dairy talc on account of jlr. W. Jiemnant, i'c Matai, Palincrstou iVortli, on Wednesday last. Buyers were present from Hnwcra, Thames, and tho Waikato, and considering tho inclement weather, there was a very rail" attendance of the local public. The era do cows met with good competition, but a number of the appendix cattle failed to reach tins vendor's reserve. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., Masterton, report having held a;very successful clearing sale at Kokatau; Carterton, on Thursday, August 9, on account of Mr. Ceo. Baton, who has sold his property. There was a large and representative attendance, buyers being present, right from Lower Hutt to l'i> liiatua. The stock came forward in fair condition .and met with keen competition right throughout tbc sale. The dairy herd of 70 cows overaged £11 7s. Cd. Dalgety and Company report having held their fortnightly sale at the Upper Hutt on Thursday., when there was a good attendance, all classes of stock offered meeting with a. ready sale." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy., Ltd., reports:—On Tuesday wo held a sale of dairy stock on account of.Mr. E. It. Saunders, Glen Oroua. The attendance was not large owing principally to the flooded state of some of the roads. The herd of 40 cows averaged £11 ss. The best prices were, £12, £13, £13 55., £13 10s., £14, £16. The heifers sold from £7 10s. to £11 ss. A sow fetched £3. At Palmorstou North on Thursday: F. and F. ewes, 265.; small wethers, 265. 6d.; fair wether hoggets, 235. 7d.: fair forward cows, £8 4s„ £8 7s. 6d., £8 10s.; 3-year forward empty heifers, £11 4s. 6d.; fat cows, £11. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that at their Upper Hutt yards on Thursday they submitted a medium yarding of both sheep and cattle to a small attendance of buyers, and sold the yarding at satisfactory rates.
