CURTAILMENT OF EIGHTS. Tho matter of the restriction of the privileges of persons of alien birth lias been closely followed by Mr. J. V. Brown since war began. Last week .Mr. Brown asked the Primo Minister whether he would immediately introduce legislation to prevent any naturalised British subject of enemy pnrentago from holding or being appointed to tho position of a member of Parliament, member of the Legislative Council, or of any local authority, Civil Service, or in tho Reserve or Expeditionary Forces. ' Mr. Massey (Prime Minister) replied: So long as naturalised British subjects jive ,no indications of disloyalty the conditions of naturalisation must be observed in New Zealand as in other parts of Hie Empire.
