Samuel Cohen, a well-known tradesman of Westminster, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment for tampering with a military pass, by means oE a chemical ink eradicator. Tho Magistrate refused to alter the sentenco to a line. Cohen's shop, it was stated, was near the colonial headquarters, and it having becomo known that a preparation ■ used to remove dates from soldiers passes was sold there, members of tho military police in uniform went in and asked tor some "staff" to take tho datos off a pass. Cohen said lie would show them how io use i't, and applied to a doenmont some liquid which left a blank space where tho date had been. Cohen said lie had not sold many bottles of it.
