KHANDALLAH DEBATING SOCIETY
Tho 'weekly meeting of the above-so-ciety was held on Tuesday evening, when the. president, Mr. J.'.H. Richardson, occupied: the. chair. The subject wag a debate, "That Napoleon, was a Benefactor to: Civilisation." Tho affirmative' was taken by Messrs. E. Hobbs, H. IT. Cornish. A. E. Bndd,:. and P. ..T. Brooker," while the negative view was led by Mr.' .1. M. Dale, who was supported bv Miss Bathani, Messrs. A. B. Topp, W. Appleton, and ,1. H. Richardson. Many 'characteristics of perhaps . the greatest leader and .despot .of modern times were dealt with, and the audience, which was: the, • largest yet this session, .followed the various speakers very attontivelv. On the resolution being put to the "meeting the affirmative was lost by a small majority; •-.''-■■■ ■•
