GERMAN PRESS ATTACKS ON NEW CHANCELLOR RECENT APPOINTMENTS CRITICISED London, August 7. The whole of the German Press is attacking Dr. Michaelis's Ministerial appointments. The Liberal and Social Democrat papers rpgard the appointments as a challenge to Parliamentary government, and accuse Div Michaelis of cowardice in deferring his aotion until the Eeichstag adjourned. The Pan-Ger-mans are; angry, believing that the Foreign Minister (Barou Kuhlmann) favourj a rapprochement with England.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. THE REICHSTAG'S PEACE RESOLUTION WIDESPREAD AGITATION AGAINST IT. (R«c. August 8, 7.15 p.m.) Amsterdam, August 7. Thirty thousand workers at Dortmund have unanimously disapproved of the Reichstag's peace resolution. An agitation is being organised against the resolution throughout the Empire.—Aus.-N.Z.
