SIX MEN FINED. By Telograph—Press Association. Wanganui, August S. In the Magistrate's Court, Mr. Hewitt, S.M., after hearing evidence against Patrick Bourke, Daniel Sullivan, and John Shore, convicted them of loitering in Victoria Avenue during the last AYanganui race meeting for tho purpose o£ betting, and fined Bourko .£2O, Sullivan .£2O, and Shore .£23. The Magistrate also inflicted a penalty in the cases against Eyan Bros, and Eoss. He fined William Eyan, of Auckland .£100; Eobert Eyan, of Auckland, £50; and David Boss, of Wellington, £75. On tho application of Mr. Cohen, who appeared for the defendants, His Worship fixed security for appeal (the fines to bo paid into Court with costs) at ten guineas in each case.
