LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
THE MAIN BODY BOYS
Sir,—A few months a;:o a letter appeared in your paper written by a Mr. .Burnett pleading for a well-earned rest for the Main Body boys. Knowing this would be of interest to some of my friends I 6ent it 011, and have now raceived the following reply:— "The Main Body boys were very pleased to read the ( letter in. The Dominion,' and are in great hopes that Mr. Burnett's 'shake-up" will have some effect on the Government in giving us the longed-for farlough. We were all in great hopes: that this year was going to'see thewar ended, but fear now it is as faraway as ever, and unless we can get a rest soon, can hope for a smack from Fritz." Seeing that the majority of. the boys* have only iiiut eight days' leave since l leaving here nearly three years ago, it is high time some arrangement was to give them the much-required rest before they are worn out entirely.—l am, etc., GIVE THEM A SPEH;. August 6.
